Anya is a Lecturer in English at the University of Sydney in Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne in Australia, and graduate degrees in English from Melbourne, Oxford and Yale.  Her primary research deals with medieval law and literature; her other research has included the composition of the Old English Advent Lyrics, late-medieval English paleography, William Caxton’s early typesetting, and the language of Jonathan Swift.

Anya is a founder and convener of Yale’s Digital Manuscript Studies Working Group, and founder and lead instructor of the workshop series “Digital Editing and the Medieval Manuscript Roll.”  With Katherine Hindley, she leads the project “Rolls & Scrolls after the Codex: A Digital Archive” at the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library.
