Eric is a doctoral candidate in the Department of English Language and Literature at Yale University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in classics and history from Columbia University, as well as a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Arts in English from North Carolina State University. His dissertation focuses on the relationship between political images, portraiture, and poetry in late medieval and early modern England.

Before coming to Yale, Eric worked for the Piers Plowman Electronic Archive, where he assisted in preparing and editing a number of the poem’s manuscripts for digital publication. His master’s thesis described and prepared for digital publication three fragments of Piers Plowman; with Professor Ian Cornelius, he is currently working on a digital edition of Beinecke Library, Takamiya MS 23, a sixteenth-century manuscript iteration of the poem.
